Welcome!

Messing doesn't oxidize. It gets a little bit darker.
other than that nice render

Fumera, actually this was more of a shape/texture/rendering study, so I didn't go deep in the exact metals used on grenades, but thanks for the comment anyway... maybe I can go deeper on that in the future...

if I may I think your rust pattern might be a bit much
maybe not so much would look better?

I appreciate them very much!
KittyKat, thanks a lot, I think you're right about that!.... maybe I'll do another improved version in the near future...

Your rust pattern is very uniform. The rust on the spoon is nice but needs to be in spots of wear. It looks like the entire grenade was put in an oxidizer, in the real world, nothing oxidizes evenly like that.
Good work on the model!

killadore: shadows are area ones, the closer the object is to one another, the sharper and darker the shadow becomes. But I understand what you're saying, maybe I'll try a different lighting next time!
maxd, Wapy, LillianaS and yvy: Yes, I think I agree with all of you about the rust. Well, trust me, they aren't photoshoped, hehehe.... It's probably something about the illumination, perhaps too much light that makes them look as if they didn't have different values on them (also affecting the shadows as killadore says). I agree on the fact that the pattern is somehow uniform too. As I told you before, this work is really old, probably between 2 to 4 years old
